1001 Free Fonts – count ‘em, sucker!

 

Flop Design is a Japanese font foundry with freeware and commercial fonts in that kind of ‘70s-techno style....sort of….Actually, perhaps you’d better check it out for yourself.

 

 

I wish I’d designed a font that appeared on the titles of The Osbornes. Fontdiner did. Also, they have a logo shaped like a bone.

 

 

The fine people from Fontes Gratis hail from Brazil and they have copious amounts of free fonts for you to run your sticky fingers through, so get to it!

 

 

Lots of original fonts here that you won’t find anywhere else – Fontoville. Cos they bake ‘em and bring them fresh to your doorstep each morning. Well, they would if they were bread, but they're not. They're fonts. So shut up.

 

 

Next stop, Poland. Fonts Antraxja have everything in tidy, neat little categories, and I like that in a font site.

 

 

Gaut Fonts has the dubious distinction of being my favorite font place, and they’re all a million percent free! Go crazy.

 

 

Italy’s GoldenWeb Fonts currently has 21,143 fonts online. By the time you’ve finished going through them all, you’ll be living in a condo in Florida. 

 

 

The iAi Font Foundry in Japan gets my vote as the prettiest font site. They also have lots of lovely wallpapers with butterflies on them.

 

 

I’m really not sure where this Spanish-language site originates, but Letramania is worth checking out. Trust me. I used to be a Girl Scout.

 

 

What are you doing here when Luc Devroye’s site has every link to every single font related site ever? Language fonts, font creation software, font conversion programs, the history of typography….I’m getting the vapors just thinking about it.

 

 

I like the cut of TypeNow’s jib. Nice layout, lots o’ wondrous fonts, and a cute little log guy. See how he’s made out of letters? Clever, huh?
